December 2010
I’m logging out and I won’t be logging back on until I feel that my grades/work ethic/school related functions are highly satisfactory. I know that I’m capable of so many wonderful things. I’m just a lazy fuck. See you in a few wonderful months.

Kids say the darndest things.
I helped some kids do their homework in a neighboring school for some community service after school today. There I met Julio and Christian, two seven year olds that seem to ‘know’ a whole lot more than I do about my life.  Christian: Do you have a boyfriend? Me: [Laughs] Nah. Christian: LIAAAR. YOU’RE LYING. YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND. Me: What…? Julio: You have a boyfriend!...

I’m feeling very nostalgic right now. And melodramatic. I’m not quite sure if the two should go together.  NO WAIT, I’M SUPPOSED TO BE ENTHUSIASTIC.  Enthusiasm Enthusiasm Enthusiasm Enthusiasm Enthusiasm Enthusiasm  Enthusiasm Enthusiasm Enthusiasm Enthusiasm Enthusiasm Enthusiasm  Enthusiasm Enthusiasm Enthusiasm Enthusiasm Enthusiasm Enthusiasm ...

The American Dream
lecorre: The term American Dream was coined during the Great Depression. The historian James Truslow Adams published The Epic of America in 1931, in an atmosphere of even greater despair than today’s. He wanted to call his book The American Dream, but his publisher objected. No one will pay $3.50 for a book about a “dream,” they said. Still Adams used the phrase so often that it entered the...

sheeennen asked: i actually dig electronic reading. if you get the nook like me, they offer a lot of free ebooks on b&n especially the classics. i get you on the idea that tangible reading is part of the whole experience. but it does have its conveniences. like if you're on the go and you finish one book.. you have a library of others to choose from with little weight to carry. best birthday present yet.

But are eBooks for you?
500daysofkissingmypillow: Pros: Does the thought of having a walking library sound appealing to you? E-books can hold hundreds of titles, so you can carry every major work of reference, a complete collection of classics you’ve always been meaning to read, and the entire current bestsellers list - all in one device, instead of a backbreaking knapsack. It’s easy to become spoiled by the...

Kindle.
I just can’t. Electronic reading? I have tumblr for that. I really just can’t. Part of reading a book is well…the book. I always have disagreements with my parents when they complain that I spend too much on books when I could just buy this thing and download them or whatever.  It’s just not my cup of tea is all.

“When someone sees the same people every day, they wind up becoming a part of that person’s life and then they want the person to change. If someone isn’t what others want them to be, the others become angry. Everyone seems to have a clear idea of how other people should lead their lives, but none about his or her own.”
